Aijin: The Heartbreaker: 2020
Pencil, brush pens, and white acrylic ink. 14x17 inches. This commissioned piece is inspired by the historic Azuchi-Momoyama period in Japan and depicts a Japanese swordswoman, loosely inspired by the mythical yuki-onna, or snow woman. Following the client’s request, the piece combines a Japanese sense of samurai warrior spirit, sensuality and beauty, and mythology to create a unique story for the piece.
